I took Joe’s class right before I retired. It was excellent and you can feel Joe’s excitement as he shares everything he’s learned throughout his healing journey and he delivers it so well. It’s changing people’s perspectives within the department, which is in-turn changing our culture. I wish I had these tools earlier in my career. Because I didn’t, I just kept digging myself into a deeper hole which I’m now working on climbing out of. Joe’s helping!
Joe Spector’s visit to our police briefing room for training left a lasting impact. He brought insightful, meaningful, and genuinely inspiring ideas–no small feat within the law enforcement community. His approach was thoughtful, practical, and solution-focused, and it was clear his message was heard and respected. Joe has a unique ability to connect with officers, challenge the norm, and offer real tools for growth. His training is not only valuable–it’s necessary.
Joe Spector’s training has made an incredible difference in not only my life, but also my family’s too. Because of his class and app, I’ve unpacked a lot of struggles that I didn’t even know I was dealing with. It’s prompted me to seek therapy and work through these issues and the skills he’s taught are used by my entire family too. Thank you!
This training is so valuable it’s impossible to put into words. Joe shares openly his journey from near-suicide to happy & resilient and the tools that led him there in a way that is much needed in the fire service and he’s uniquely qualified to not only deliver it, but also get the whole room open to sharing and learning.
I didn’t want to accept that I had a problem. On top of that, I didn’t know where to start….Until I attended Joe’s training and heard the most candidly raw, honest & transparent words that I needed to hear which made me realize how much all of my baggage affected not only me, but my family as well. When I began using the tactics and tools that Joe taught, my own grit, growth & gratitude started translating into better relationships with my wife & two sons, and my friends. What a difference. This stuff saves lives. Thank you, brother.
Sadness and a feeling of uncertainty as well as emotions that come on strong with no true reasoning have plagued me for years. Forceful smiles and actions to try to prove outwardly that everything’s okay–for many of us, this is everyday! Hearing Joe’s story and his ability to overcome it created an energy shift for me and other brothers and sisters who started to understand the signs. His message gives us hope, a chance for understanding, and a direction to look into. Finally someone is shining a light onto the unseen tears within our mental health. The relentless anxiousness is now directed towards hope and solutions that seem plausible. Thank you!
Finally! This was the information I needed in my wellness journey! Direct, no B.S. easy to follow guidance from another first responder who has actually overcome his own traumatic experiences. Why weren’t we taught this stuff in the academy? These tools and his story have literally, no exaggeration, changed my life.
Joe’s Grit, Growth & Gratitude training was great, and we’ve had some really good conversations in the truck and at the station surrounding these topics that we wouldn’t have otherwise had because of it. He did such a great job discussing taboo mental health topics in a way that firefighters can understand and relate to. I really hope our department continues to have this training.
After Joe’s training, we had some very significant mental health conversations at the station. The newer guys on my truck shared that they previously thought they had to “earn their trauma” but seeing everyone in the room open up, share, and support each other gave them permission to express their challenging feelings. This dialogue never would have happened without this training, and it’s continuing to this day.
Huge thank you to Joe Spector for putting this training for our fire department. He has put together simple and practical (but very powerful) tactics to keep on top of our mental health, something the fire service has lacked since its inception. What he taught us has had a serious positive impact on me, my crew members, and my family.
